[ He casts her something of a curious look at her request, but it lasts only a moment until he remembers she mentioned her brother might be interested in the art supplies. It’s probably a dangerous thing to cling to hope like that, but he’s hardly one to talk considering he visits Arya often. ]
But of course. They are yours to do with as you wish.
[ she cannot help but hope. he is her brother, after all, and they have been together since the very moment of conception, she cannot imagine the possibility of never speaking with him again. he will wake.. and when he does, she will be ready with a stack of welcoming gifts. these charcoals will add to that stack.
alisaie smiles, and stuffs the little satchel into her own bag. ]
And the silver shall buy us a delicious dinner tonight.
[ LET PROMPTO HAVE NICE THINGS AND GOOD SELF-ESTEEM.
Not that X’rhun has any idea about how Prompto feels about himself or his abilities— for him, this is simply credit where credit is due, and the way Prompto lights up is well worth it. Everyone should be given the chance to shine, and should be acknowledged when they do. ]
A real bath will probably have to wait until we get back to the city proper, but you can dream.
[ As to the compliment, he grins and gives a small nod. ]
Thank you. It’s nice to know my age hasn’t slowed me down.
[ Prompto would expect nothing less from the man who taught Alisaie magic, and while Prompto didn't exactly have a lot of red mages to compare X'rhun to, there's no denying how he totally thrashed that water snake. ]
You know what they say! Some things improve with age. [ Sandwiched between bouts of laughter. He teases, but he means it, too.
As he relaxes, adrenaline simmering, he starts to paddle the boat once more. Well - almost relaxes. ]
[ Ah. He casts his gaze at the still form of the serpent, still bobbing gently with the motion of the water. ]
I’m… not sure. It’s somewhat large for the two of us to deal with on our own, but perhaps bits and pieces of it could be useful for the natives. Better than leaving the whole thing here for the fishes.
[ The magic bullets catch his eye, and he allows himself a small smile. It seems his new friend is quite capable.
And her plan is sound, not crazy at all. ]
I'll make the first strike. You follow up!
[ The four remaining swords are already looping back around. The fist one grazes the creature's snout, but the next one finds its mark in one of the serpent's eyes. It roars and thrashes, turning its good eye on the mage that half-blinded it. ]
[His scarf (and the rest of him) is still soaking wet, but at least he's wrung out enough water to feel comfortable wrapping it around his neck now. It looks rather pathetic, though, weighed with moisture and just hanging around his shoulders like a dead fish. Yes, he'll need to find a place to change when this is all through -- or at least dry off.]
Already so eager for a "next time"? Let's at least exchange our catch for its silver before we start tossing ourselves into the sea again.
[It's said with a smirk, though, and soon he'll begin the gentle row towards the shoreline. Smooth, fluid actions, not at all like the violence he had displayed just moments before.]
I can see the charm in the foliage and the more "wild" aspect, but I prefer Olympia. The more structured city landscape makes me feel more comfortable.
[And Olympia lacks dragons, except for the small ones that apparently reside at the cafe.]
[ Waver wants to be the knowledgeable one since he's the one who's been here longer and is trying to help out new arrivals, but he knows that his expertise in this area is slim to none. So he simply nods a little, trying not to seem too huffy about it. ]
[ Cat boys aren't allowed to get old and wrinkly, obviously.
It doesn't take long for the stranger to figure out what 76 meant by slowing it down. If that meant having to cling to whatever part of the tree he could get hold of, then so be it. He seems to have managed it, but 76 doubts that he'll be able to hold that position for long.
So yes, with haste. Everything about this situation is ridiculous, though 76 realizes how quickly that could change, and so he climbs the tree at a quick pace, his enhanced strength making it a much simpler task.
Once he's caught up with the captured stranger, he reaches into his boot for a knife, while his other hand tightly grips the same branch that the other man's foot is hooked around. ]
Gonna try to cut you free, but you'll need to grab me before you fall. [ If this doesn't work out as planned and the stranger does fall, he'll likely survive. He might be bruised and nursing a broken bone or two, but nothing too severe. ] You ready?
[ whichever it is, vane seems to carry full faith in x’rhun.
plus, the concept of no deaths was... comforting at the very least. ] Rhuny, is it? [ uh, no. but, well it's close enough isn't it? either way, vane was a man of (not so) tasteful nicknames. he could probably think of a few others, but... ]
My name's Vane! I was a vice captain for the order of knights back home. But, I guess that doesn't really matter here, huh—? [ somehow, it's come down to this. still, he gives a flicker of a smile before he faces back to their controls.
there's a lot he doesn't know and for that, he just seems to mimic x'rhun's own movements. ]
[ It's about all that he can ask for, and while Peter has faith in his own aim, he'd much prefer an easier target. These things are fast, and considering each appearance is startling and sends their boat rocking, it makes things a little difficult. ]
Just don't lose a hand while you're "impeding" it.
[ Cain knew exactly what to do, and thanks to him, this battle was over quickly. As much as he likes to show off, he'd rather danger be dealt with swiftly. ]
Ah, no. Red magic isn't tied to any one element. It's sort of a categorization, more than anything else. White magic has many healing and nature-based spells, like the ability to manipulate wind or earth. Black magic is hard-hitting and destructive, with lots of fire, ice, and lightning spells. Red magic is a combination of the two schools, though we've a few tricks of our own, like the sword you saw earlier.
Handy tricks! Any chance you'd be willing to teach them?
[ He's interested even in the theory, has been curious ever since he came to this world about all the different systems of magic that he's encountered. Even if he can't use the spells himself, knowing how they work is something that seems like it'd come in handy. ]
I'm not what you'd call a mage myself, but I can use combat magic well enough. I'd be happy to share what I know of the pursuit in return, or anything else you'd care to know about me.
[ Or if X'rhun wants to put him to work, well, a bit of physical labor is hardly the worst thing in the world, especially in payment for learning something so useful as what Cain's seen in their team up. ]
I don't mind at all. Olympia is much more... structured, I suppose. There is more technology to be found there, more order. Wyver, on the other hand, is a bit more wild. They love their dragons and live off of the jungle.
