[ If he wasn't holding on for dear life, Reinhardt might have laughed at that sound. But as it is, he's a little busy trying not to lose the bed and go tumbling off the dragon. He's decided. It's him or the dragon and he's going to show just how stubborn he is. Besides, he sort of wants to impress the man behind him with those amazing quick reflexes and skilled save. ]
No. I don't think it does. They did say they only like the person who ride them. I don't know why they didn't just send out those people to bring them back. But I'm not going to look this gift in the mouth! Its not everyday you can ride a dragon.
[ Only this isn't so much riding as hugging as hard as he can and not letting go. A tactic that's going to bite him in the ass when the dragon goes from smacking into trees to deciding that jumping into water and rolling around is a good way to get rid of it's unwanted pests. ]
[ X’rhun has always been something of a show off. His magic is flashy, his outfit (when he’s actually wearing it) is flashy. His whole demeanor is flashy. Why else would he leap when he could duck?
However, that doesn’t save him when the dragon trundles off towards a small pond of muggy water. Only too late does he realize what the beast’s game is, but by then it’s already gotten a running start and has leapt off the shore and into the water itself.
X’rhun’s startled cry of “Seven hells!” is effectively garbled as the dragon and its riders are submerged. The red mage doesn’t have enough purchase to stay on the dragon’s back once it starts rolling, and he separates from the beast almost immediately.
Once he surfaces, sputtering, he catches a glimpse of a trickle of red running down the bridge of his nose alongside muddy water. He probably got caught in the head by the dragon’s tail in his attempts to swim away. ]
Clever arse.
[ With a sigh, as he wipes at his forehead with his arm. Now, where did Reinhardt get off to in all that? ]
[ Very clever indeed because a moment later, Reinhardt is surfacing...Or he should be. For a moment, there is a flailing hand and then another as he struggles to try to get to the surface and not panic. The dragon is already swimming away and Reinhardt is floundering. He can't swim and he hasn't realized he can just plant his feet. He's panicking because he's certain he's drowning.
The few times he surfaces, it's with curses in German before he's going under again. Mostly at the dragon and the drowning. The dragon though, it's already to the other end of that little murky pond, shaking itself off and ambling into the jungles again. There's even a little lizard smirk on it's face.]
If X'rhun cranes his neck a bit and stands on his tip-toes, he can keep his head above water, so he knows Reinhardt can stand up just fine, given their difference in height.
He paddles over and attempts to latch onto one of the knight's massive arms. ]
[ He's going to die! He was going to drown!! What a way to go! Remember him. Brought down by a small pond of muddy water. Pour one out for ....
He feels that hand on his arm.
He's saved. HE'S SAVED.
Even with the water in his ears and up his nose he can hear what's being said. It's sharp enough that the soldier in him obeys, planting his feet and...yeah. When he stands, the water only comes up to the middle of his chest.
He's too busy hacking up brackish water to be embarrassed.] ...dumb dragon.
[ With that crisis averted, X'rhun takes to treading water again, if only because it's easier than trying to stay on his toes. A trickle of blood runs down his brow once more, and he wrinkles his nose at it. ]
I believe that's a bet lost on both sides, my friend.
[ He finishes hacking and looks to X'rhun. He sees that trickle of blood and he feels bad. His dumb bet ended with himself nearly dying and his friend hurt. ]
I believe so... [ He's pouting. A lot. It's sort of sad to see an old man pouting like this. Shoulders sagging, usually slicked back hair bedraggled in his face. He heaves a small sigh and more water before he offers a steady arm so he can walk them to the shore. ]
I'm still buying you a beer. You saved me. But first, we'll go to a healer for you.
I would buy you one in return. We both lost, so it is only fair.
[ He's happy to let Reinhardt guide him back towards the shore, though once it gets shallow enough for him to walk without issue, he does so. Once again he wipes the blood from his brow with a forearm. ]
'Tis nothing my own abilities cannot take care of. I would just prefer to clean it properly, first.
Sounds like a plan. [ Because yeah, he really does need a drink, just to get the taste of that water out of his mouth. ] We'll go back then. Stop by your place and then mine. That way we don't drip on their stools.
Though I'm glad that fancy hat of yours didn't get too ruined. I don't if there's magic in the world that would fix it.
[ Reinhardt is just going to start walking back to town and pretend he hadn't acted like a right fool in front of a friend. ]
