[There's something lazy about his look, the way he tilts his head and lets his hair fall into his face as he grins down at X'rhun, shifting away from him.]
You seem to be making up for it now, hm? It means I've done something right. Perhaps several somethings?
[Ardyn is a bit quicker about removing himself from the mattress, lazily ready to begin his own process of clean-up and getting dressed again. However, he does pause briefly, giving X'rhun a quick, skeptically amused look before he rises.]
Well, one of us does have to leave here eventually.
[ It takes him a moment more to summon up the effort to get off the bed, making for the washroom. ]
Surely it wouldn’t kill you to linger after our little encounters – I can’t imagine you have anything terribly urgent to tend to that you cannot grace me with your company for a while longer.
[Then that means it's Ardyn's turn, and he stands up, ambling on by, though pausing before he passes X'rhun.]
We'll see.
[That sounds a lot like something people who are attached do, X'rhun, and Ardyn is quite allergic to the idea. Of even letting such a thing germinate in his mind by giving it thought; too dangerous, too much vulnerability wrapped up in the very idea.
He passes into the washroom without another word for now.]
[ That’s all he can ask for, at this point. He knows well how Ardyn shies away from even the thought of connection, as if there were not already invisible strands looping them together, twining and tangling since X’rhun began to piece together the whole of Ardyn’s sordid past and made the choice to have some misplaced measure of faith in him, regardless.
But, as ever, when things edge a bit to close to the sort of genuine that is like to scare Ardyn away, he offers up a joke, instead. ]
I don’t know why you’re so hesitant. I am delightful company.
[The jokes usually do work to bring Ardyn back into the conversation, a gentle tug into territory that X’rhun is well-aware that he tries to give a wide berth to. His voice radiates from the washroom as a reply.]
You are delightful company. Oh, but you know how I am; ever the capricious sort.
[ He breathes out a laugh at that, opting to plop back down on the bed to make himself at home rather than begin the process of getting dressed again. ]
I’m beginning to believe you’ve more feline in you than I do, my friend.
[ This coming from the guy who recently discovered he can turn into a cat. ]

[ He will need to move eventually, to clean himself up if nothing else, but he needs a moment to just lie here. ]
So, what happens now? Are you kicking me out or are you going to up and leave your own room?

Well, one of us does have to leave here eventually.
[That's totally not what X'rhun was getting at.]

He calls after him as he disappears to clean up.]
So you'd have me linger for the sake of idle chatter? I didn't know you were much for pillow talk.

[ Called over his shoulder from the other room. ]
Besides, it’s not as if we don’t engage in idle chatter with our clothes on. Variety is the spice of life, as they say.

And is that what you want, X'rhun?
[See, now he's asked.]
no subject
I’d not have brought it up otherwise. I’m not asking for much, Ardyn, just that you simply do not up and leave the instant we’re through.
